Day 1. Year 2.

On May 1st 2010, at the stroke of midnight, with a festive atmosphere in full effect, surrounded by friends old and new, Sheena slipped into a new dress, albeit one that was reclaimed, recycled, renovated and refashioned from a familiar favorite. Much thanks to the lovely Aki Goto, for taking something old, and turning it into something new. Aki is having a show on May 6th at Toda Design Studio, NYC. We’ll be there! RSVP to sustainable.exchange@gmail.com.
Here is Sheena in the U.P LBD that you are now so familiar with, reinvented and customized with recycled scraps from all over. Thank you Aki. Hello new dress.

It would be awsome if you would update the blog with pictures of what you're wearing everyday. That way you would get more constant press and more people interested in the project and get more donations for the kids. I know thats the first thing I looked for was an update section of what you were wearing.

Sheena, Love your innovative, altruistic spirit!--and love your outfits, including the latest aki goto--definitely don't agree with the criticisms--the white fabric on the bottom is fabulously deconstructed and would be too predictable otherwise--also the leggings which are cut out for your feet are perfect for this outfit! The world needs more people like you and aki!

I quite like the top part, but the diaper-looking part peeking out of the hem is a little too bizarre. She is a deft seamstress, but I'm not sure about this particular design... I have surely enjoyed this past year, and I look forward to what you will be doing next, Sheena! Thanks for UP!

Well, I admire your achievement over the last year, in particular in raising so much money for those children who now have a better chance in life. But.....I'm slightly disappointed your MayDay dress wasn't more inspired/inspiring, its easy to be look good when you've got so many natural advantages - slim, young, attractive etc. You'd look good in a paper bag - please don't take that as a challenge! I'm in black dresses day in day out for my work, but paper bags I couldn't get away with. Good luck with the rest of your career - just stay grounded, its been fun watching you!

Wherever your dreams take you, I know you will find happiness waiting. And we will be waiting for you....CONGRATS Sheena!

I'm visiting your website for the first time and was very impressed while looking at the designs from Year 1, even extremely bummed I discovered this site too late for me to actually buy any.. But now seeing this one, I get confused.. If you compare it to the designs from Year 1, this one looks, apart from not being cohesive, less mature, less creative and less inspired. That being said, I look forward to seeing what else will pop up.. And I must say: you've got a GREAT concept going on here. Best of luck!
