Studio work and Stylist meetings
Hectic day today; a quick supply run then meetings with two stylists and of course the ongoing list of things to sew for orders. I’m also picking up my custom made rib knit fabric from a local knitting factory (happily in the same building as my studio!) one of maybe 6 left in Montreal! Something to think about when buying your clothing…who made it, where was it made? It’s easy to push those thoughts away, but they’re very real. Your clothing IS made somewhere, you can decide where that somewhere will be!
Since I’m doing so much literal running around today I tried to change the dress into a sort of tunic top to be worn over jeans, but also with a blazer that I can throw on for meetings, then take off when it’s time to get back to work. I transformed the top in a similar way to what I did on Day 3, just wrapping it tighter and higher, then tying it in a knot in the back instead of just buttoning it. I dressed things up with one of my fringe necklaces, but kept mobile in flat boots.
We didn’t quite reach triple digits yesterday, but we didn’t do too bad…todays the day though…I can feel it!
