Say Cheese!
I’m ambivalent about Sundays.
Historically advertised as a “day of rest,” Sunday makes me restless. It’s a surefire signal that Monday is threatening its way in – and a reminder that if I didn’t catch up with work sufficiently on Saturday or late Friday night, I’ll be utterly swamped during the workweek.
I do, however, enjoy my Sunday mornings, which usually consist of putting on my LBS (Little Black Spandex) and getting in a good workout (usually a run or Spin and Total Body Conditioning class).
I also had the chance to visit my favorite specialty food store in Brooklyn: Bedford Cheese Shop. Let’s just say I was ambivalent about cheese & chocolate until I frequented this store last year. Let me assure you that your taste buds will forever be upgraded to First Class. Not to mention the guys behind the cheese bar are super friendly and enjoy sharing slices of cheese with their customers. Dillon served me this time. I’ll forgive him that they were out of the L’Amuse AND Toffee Almond Dark Chocolate.
I decided to go the direction of a fabulous 40s housewife w/a vintage black sheer dress w/ flocked butterflies & flecked w/ rhinestones from traven on Etsy; a vintage belt from Fluke; a country-inspired straw hat; vegan heels (Beyond Skin); a sterling silver casted shell ring (Kirsten Muenster); & my fabulous LBD ruffled up the side like magnificent floral petals or butterfly wings.

So pretty! I love how the sheer dress sits so perfectly underneath the LBD, as if it were part of the same dress! <3 This is a lovely way to work a vintage dress.

Where I am right now it is so rainy (and Snowy)…this outfit brightened my day! I absolutely adore your outfits so far (especially the 40s flare) and I hope you keep up the good work!

yummy butterfly frock, yummy photos. i’ve always thought it’s mandatory to go First Class on all things food – buying cheap is a false economy. guess that goes for everything, including clothing (No need to spend a fortune on expensive brands, which we smart UPers know you find in thrift stores and markets).

I love the pretty pink ruffle on the LBD, and how you exposed it today. Also, those shoes are spectacular!

This outfit leaves the viewer yearning for spring. 🙂 Though I don’t really like the front of the dress folded up this way because you can spot that its the inside.
