Day 7

Breakfast, Blustery Cold, and Bubble Skirts

Let me just preface this by saying that the ladies who actually purchase this dress are going to have SO much fun with it.  I woke up this morning absolutely inspired. Plus I definitely stopped trying to guess what the New York weather would do next – so I went out with my recycled kimono blazer by AOI and tightened up my lower string of my LBD and buttoned the bottom buttons to the top buttons to give it a nouveau bubble dress feel.

I paired all of that with my old Gucci white rubber boots (not certain if the heavy rains would leave any unsightly puddles); my cashmere knit hibiscus hat; Nepalese hand-knit nettle scarf (Leila Hafzi); and tattoo hibiscus print tights by Stockingirl.

I rushed out the door to catch breakfast in the West Village for a long overdue get-together with my friend and sustainable design champion, Julie Gilhart (who was sweet enough to take these photos of me btw). We caught up on life-long pursuits, fashion, and upcoming trips that will take us off the grid.

I surmise it’ll be a fabulously fun day today as it’s one of those 24-hr diversions where I just happen to have a lot of friends in town. So if you see me running around Brooklyn and Manhattan –be sure to stop me and say, “Hello.”

Yes, of course! The dress is for sale at the end of the UP run. I don’t get to have all the fun. Carasan really designed this dress for Full Amounts of Fun. And we give you free stuff if you donate as well!

Will the dress be available in plus sizes? I *love* this dress and would definitely purchase it if it were available in size 16/18.

that jacket is absolutely the best thing i have seen during this whole project (present lbd excepted, of course!). sadly, there is no weblink – does this person, or company, make other stunning things, for people other than you? inquiring minds want to know….

Yes – so sorry I didn’t include the link to the jacket. Last time I had checked, AOI didn’t have a website but I see it here now. Great company, impeccable tailoring. Two crazy boys run the company: http://www.aoiclothing.com/
