Bitter Sweet Treats
So i’m flipping through channels and i stop and notice right after an ad for the CCFC a hair color commercial with a model and her perfect blond hair comes on… Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against blondes or models, it just really helped put a lot of things into perspective especially on a day like this. It’s Day 31 and i guess you could say this goodbye is bitter sweet. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated funds, re-tweeted, and helped make all of this possible. Special thank you to the ladies at U.P or should i say sisters from another mother. I never even heard the words sustainable and fashion in the same sentence before this project and although i wasn’t able to raise enough for 200 laptops the fact that i was able to be a part of a cause that makes a difference in someone elses life has been one hell of a humbling and exciting experience.
So if you haven’t guessed it by now – i went with the Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice look. Double layered my tights – i wasn’t able to get the glow in the dark tights in time but i was able to find these spiderweb ones instead. I also scored a hat w/ a veil and the funnest black tutu in the world! I think i spun around in my friends place for about 5 minutes before she stopped me and reminded me to bring it back unharmed. eBay’s Green Team donated this great knitted top that i threw over the dress to add some texture and because layering is the new black! With a black rose to top things off i think my “everyday is a funeral” look- is very Beetlejuice.

Nice costume, but you sort of missed the point with this one. The idea is to showcase the versatility of the dress and the dress is nowhere in sight.

You’ve been an inspiration. Taking time out of your mental schedule to do something that needs all your attention, is very brave of you. Hope we can, over a period of time help 200 kids get their laptops! Sheena took almost a year to put that many kids in school, so I think you’ve done fantastic in just 1 month! Love your style, love you attitude. Rock on!

I really like the costume, but it doesn’t even look like you are wearing the dress. You can’t see any of it, so it seems to me that you are cheating and not even wearing it, just wearing other black clothes. This is a disappointing end to an overall great month.
