My mind is (g)one with the wind
Last night I received great news that my dearest friend & Source4Style advisor, Damon Horowitz, received a standing ovation at TED for his riveting talk on teaching philosophy in prison. What a thought, huh? “My body may be shackled, but I have set my mind free.” His talk will be online soon. In the meantime you can see his dynamic presentation style in slides 5-9.
Benita and I, my best friend & business partner in Source4Style, will be working from home today on a new Premium Level Membership for our site as we transition from our Public Beta (read: testing phase). The PLM will allow designers greater access to sourcing tools on our platform, so if you’re a designer tuning into this post – be patient. We plan to launch it by 5-1-11.
I’m working right up to the Whole Living Awards tonite. They’re honoring a dozen women working towards environmental wellbeing through disruptive models – Benita and I have the humble honor of being featured alongside some amazing activists for our work with Source4Style.
I decided to class it up tonight by turning my LBD into a Gone With the Wind bustle with a high-collar vintage raw silk wiggle dress from ladyhogg; quilled hat-Ryan Wilde; black bow-tie gloves by Cornelia James, (who is the official glove manufacturers by Royal Appointment to the Queen); Alex & Ani ring given to me by Aveeno; a vintage 1950s Morris Moskowitz black satin handbag-Sunny Wood Vintage; pin dot tights; and pumps-Charmone.
