rather lady like
although i think the collar of the dress is genius alone, i find this white bow makes for a worthy cover up. it’s from Kiosk, a collective of local icelandic designers, the shoes are vintage from Sputnik. and the best part is the painting background, which can you believe is in the changing room of Kiosk? the background bats go well with the dress’s bat wings no?

Well, I HAD to use that Batty tag today! But it’s lovely, and the bow sets off the batwings. And another thing: I am really loving the way you have chosen to showcase Icelandic designers as you have. Thanks for introducing us to these creative artists.

Yes! Your shoes are gorgeous and the collar is sweet. What is it like to wear the same dress for 21 days? How is it changing your perception of how you get dressed in the morning?

This isn’t as creative as I had hoped. I think you could do so much more with the dress.

Lovely transformation of your dress today!

I love the simplicity of today’s outfit! Very classy! The shoes are fantastic…just enough heel! As other’s have said – it’s awesome to see Icelandic stuff! I’ve been inspired and enjoyed checking out the links! Keep it up!

I like the collar, but again, I’m kinda bored. With the same dress everyday, we need MORE accessories and MORE INTERESTING ones to stay interested. That’s what was so amazing about Sheena’s outfits, and she did it for 365 days!
Think about it. If you find yourself describing the paintings in the background because there’s not enough to say about what you’re actually wearing, then you probably aren’t trying hard enough.

You look DIVINE. That tie-bow is pure genius and the black and ivory is so perfectly elegant. All time favorite.

I think those who say this is boring are missing the point. This outfit is a great example of how a few small accessories can completely change the dress. The original UP showed how one dress can be worn as elegant, grunge, evening wear, street wear, retro etc etc. This look today is not only beautiful but continues in the same tradition. I like it a lot and hope you’ll continue showing the versatility of the dress – which is what differentiates the blog from other fashion sites.

@celeste, at the core of this exercise is individuality. India shows us a new take on this challenge. Personally I think this is the best daily yet because it completely transforms the dress with one simple accessory – not easy to do. And I love the blurbs which reveal so much of the girl behind the dress, her imagination, the stories behind the pieces. What I learned from doing this for a year is that style isn’t just what you wear and it’s a lot more than throwing on a bunch of accessories.
