Denim Days
Denim Days
I received the most wonderfully delightful email the other day from my great friend and colleague, Allan Schwarz, from the Mezimbite Forest Centre in Mozambique:
“You look great as always and the dress is spectacular. Exciting that another project is underway. Of course I don’t quite get the point, seeing that I have worn the same khaki shirt and pants for the last 40 years…”
Hilarious.
Today was a perfect day to dress down my LBD, which has a natural propensity for looking absolutely glamorous. I had a lot of quick meetings between an afternoon workout, so I wanted a low fuss outfit that I could run around Manhattan in. So I basically turned my LBD into a bubble skirt.
Then I paired a bustier from Stockingirl over a white sleeveless and topped it off with my organic cotton LevisEco denim jacket, hand-knit Nepalese cashmere scarf (Leila Hafzi); sustainably-harvested African blackwood cuff by Allan of the a.d. schwarz line (available at Linhardt Designs); Modo Eco eyewear; a vintage lunchbox-turned-purse from VeraVague over at Etsy; and organic cotton denim shoes (zoe&zac for Payless).

Looks great! Though I wouldn’t really say you’re dressed down with the bustier and the bubble skirt and all, it just looks gorgeous. Maybe it’s you and everything you wear looks glamorous 😉
