Simple in stripes
Dressing my sister this morning, I could tell today would be good for stripes. The shirt and leggings at the top of her clothes, and the first things I grabbed without thinking where both striped. Yesterday walking up the main strip in Reykjavik we stopped by Aftur. Aftur is a clothing line with a simple golden rule: Recycle or die. Practically everything in the shop is not only super comfy but also super cool. She hooked me up with some great donations and I got some things for myself as well. The striped stockings are from her and you can expect I will show more of what she passed along (and of what you can at the end of the month get!) in a few days. Also wearing a really nice necklace from my favorite jewelry line, Kria. The designer for Kria is Icelandic and has used bones found in Iceland to cast in many of her pieces. Checkit!

Love the stockings, seeing India and Sheena both rock stockings/interesting socks so well has made me try to be be brave enough to do it myself… Living in fashion-conservative NEPA, I get a few incredulous stares.

I really enjoy reading the stories behind each of your accessories. It makes your style seem packed with purpose. 🙂 Keep it up!

you look like a pilgrim.
P.S. whats up with the closeup of the necklace?
this is supposed to be about the dress!

@Jesse – it’s not really about the dress surely, more about the way the wearer masterfully creates a brand new outfit each day with styling and accessories. sheena often gave closeups of interesting accessories, or pieces by independent designers etc. i find it interesting to discover the designers and i love the necklace (besides it’s too small to see without a closeup). Seems like you’re fishing for criticisms.

i love the way this outfit is so simple– yet still has a unique sort of style. that necklace is beautiful!

@pl– i don’t think anyone is fishing for criticisms, it just that people have different opinions..

I really like the stockings, the colors are great! Kria is India’s mother’s jewelry line, and it has fabulous pieces- earthy and delicate.

It is impossible, really, to have too many stripes!
A long time ago
i didn’t know kria was your mother’s jewelry line- that’s so cool!

A cada dia que passa você está mais linda. Adorei o jeito como a gola para cima serviu de fundo para o pingente.

You have my vote to continue with the accessories close-ups. I needed that to see the extra magic of the shoes. And I think it does actually help to highlight the dress because then we can see details of the dress, like today’s feature of the cowl.

I like that the hem of the dress longer at the back than the front

I love the tights! The dress’s design is ingenious – with so many options for how to wear it. Could we get a view of the back of the dress, please?

This is truly cute. It looks good on you.

Kria, cool tip. Beautiful, awesome idea, unfortunately also expensive, but a good christmas/birthday wish. 😉
Love the stockings!

Oh yeah, also would have loved to see more pics from the behind of your outfit. Maybe you can do it for the next pics?

Jesse! Don’t be a hater….
A long time ago
i am not a hater! it’s my opinion

It is such a functional dress! It looks like that you are in the different dress every day! very cool! I am looking forward to see your stylish coordinate every day!

@jj: Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and when you back it up with real reasons, it’s not considered “hating.” There have been several people who aren’t feeling India’s style. When UP announced a comeback, many of us hoped for a refreshing dose of Sheena, and India is very different from what they expected.
But let’s be real. Like or dislike the outfits, the real reason we’re here is for the kids!! India has chosen a wonderful cause to support, and no one can criticize her for that.

however, jesse wasn’t commenting on india’s style…

please, people, don’t analyze the comments so much! if you don’t like it, you don’t like it, you’re not a hater.
