Saturday Night Fever
You guys are really cracking the whip! I am totally running out of things to wear with the dress, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the dress is so stylish in and of itself. If it were just a plain black shift I could wear it with almost anything and it would always look different. Anyway, I just wanted to say that. Like go easy on me! This outfit is totally for going out later and I think it looks cool. The greenish dress is by Judi Rosen too! How exciting. Hope you are all having a good weekend. Be nice to me. xoxoles

I don’t think it’s u Lesley…I think the problem is the dress. Although it is an awesom dress and a really great design, I just don’t feel the same sense of versatility that has aways been a trademark of UP dresses. The dress itself is always the same regardless of wha u wear with it. Unlike the original UP dress which was worn so many ways or India’s dress which was so convertible. Hang in there! You are doing a great job considering what you have to work with.

cracking the whip? but everyone has been very cheerful on your previous outfit picture!…
have you already think about putting shirts with the dress, i think it could look good.. cheers!

i totally agree with you!!! the dress is sooo beautiful by itself. thers not much you can do with it…. less is sometimes more! i’ve loved all your outfits so far. i can’t wait for the rest!

This is totally great – the color combo is fab, and goes with the kind of hip 60s hair thing (a la Emma Peel).

Love the pop of colour today. Have you tried interwining/ pinning scarves/ sashes to around the belt or, inside the lapel for something a bit different? Can you wear the dress as an open coat?

Oh go easy on me..people are not donating because your attitude sucks!!! check Sheena’s dailies day after after, the commitment, the dedication, the respect for the people in here – no whining, no complaining!!! I rooted for you, and I had great hopes – now I| am just bored and I wish this month goes quickly so someone worhty of this take it up – and I have no desire whatsoever to donate a penny to this cause because of you!

Looks great!

I’d like to see this dress with a pair of knee high leather slouch boots with 4.5 -5 inch heels. Totally hot!

You look so great! I’m glad that you have renewed your efforts and are starting to turn out some really great stuff. And I agree with natale: Yiu could do something with scarves around teh waist…

Yes we are crakcing down the whip but its mcuh needed. You are doing much better but were not looking for good we want outfits that are gonna totally blog our minds! I know you can do it Lesley. This outfit is good. Although I would like it a lot more if the green was darker. The boots are great, though. The red lipstick is a nice touch too.

Love love love this outfit. Love that pop of color with the dress! Don’t listen to the haters, I imagine this to be a difficult challenge (especially if you’re having problems with the dress), but you are pulling it off.
Go Girl!

Cute & those boots in the background rock, too. Who made those?

easy to be nice today. This out fit is “yes, Yes, YES”!

some commenters have been harsh! no need to smile if you’re making people smile! 🙂
Is that an Ikea chair? haha P.S. What does it look like open? coat/cape like? It was cool when Sheena wore hers like that last year

Yes, yes, luv it. Luv the lips and pop of colour. A long skirt could work. Have fun.

So sexy. Gotta love it.

Clean and crisp but with enough zing to keep it interesting. Nice going!

I really like this one, but agree you have a difficult dress to work with. Keep it up though!

Very cool indeed – you’re doing a great job! Thanks! Looking forward to reading more about Phoenix House!

Oh I am surprised, I thought you had some influence on the cut of the dress and isn’t it very obvious that the dress has to be versatile? And I do not think at all that people here are mean, quite the contrary, here are many supporting fans of the U.P and on some pictures they could have been so much more harsher – so please don’t start moaning again.

Love the outfit, again. 🙂 I agree too, the dress looks really nice but makes things so difficult for this project. I love how you keep up your attitude. Standing in for yourself everyday in the net, getting judged by people, not easy! A good advice, take in the critic, what you agree on use to make something good out of it, what you don’t agree on, put aside and out of your head.

You’re doing great, and I salute you and your effort. It’s too bad that this sort of charitable, fun, positve effort can attract people who want to offer negative comments…that’s not about you, it’s about something going on with them.
A long time ago
@Lesley @Anne – compared to Sheena and India I sadly have to say that Lesley is not as much fun as they were. And this is not a “mean” comment. Do you want the U.P. as a project with great quality? – then you have to accept the comments that are not so nice, but are a real opinion and I think everybody who writes a comment cares about the project.

YOUR THE FUCKING BEST

Hey Lesley, are there any donations of clothes or other nice things (jewelry, scarfs) for you? Great shoes by the way.

WHAT INDIA SAID!!

Good outfit today, but your attitude tires me. As a supporter of a project, I’d like to be able to offer criticism. Naturally, it should be polite and as constructive as possible. But I think people criticize because they care about the project, not because they think to themselves:

Oh, I’ve had a bad day, let’s log into UP and hate on Lesley. Therefore I think, dishing out pre-emptive lashouts and excuses (the fabric is too thick, the dress is too…) on your critics (and the rest of the audience for that matter) is not an appropriate response.

love seeing you on the fire escape, dig the whole outfit, which is super sexy. how does one walk in shoes like this in nyc? anyway, you are too cute for words.
A long time ago
i want those boots. like really really badly want them.
A long time ago
I figured it out. It is because you are having ups and downs that it is interesting. Honestly, the other two, I never got much into. I sort of flipped through, yawned, and forgot. You, I am curious every day, “Did she get it today?” It’s actually much better from a reader perspective, though I know hearing that might piss you off.

Props for wearing THOSE heels on that slotted porch/fire escape! I was wondering why all your pics today weren’t outside, but then I figured it out 😉 Love the high pony/lipstick.
A long time ago
I totally agree with Debbie, every day I check the site wondering did she get up today? your outfit is lovely, I guess you didn’t make it outside the house because the it too painful to walk with those shoes…
A long time ago
I love your shoes!! <3
A long time ago
Love this! But I’m afraid you’re going to fall through the fire escape in your heels!

Love the POP of colour! Great layering. I’m really digging the look. 🙂

I love it! Every aspect of this is perfect.
