Day 18

trianglez and frinjizz

Shoes are another pair fromΒ Sputnik, I prefer vintage heels since I don’t have to worry about messing them up and also because they are cheaper… yes I know not the words of a “true fashionista!” I semi apologize. The belt is also vintage and to go with the triangle there I have buttoned up the front flaps to close up the v-neck with a triangular collar. Since my hair is pretty dirty (I have only taken one shower while I have been here, and I know you hope I am kidding but I am not) I will probably spend a portion of my day struggling to decide between an up bun or just leaving it down and not really caring or at least pretending not to HA. The leggings are silkscreened and have that neon fringe you see on the side which are for me the real selling point. They are fromΒ Naked Ape, yet another Icelandic store.

I’ve never seen leggings like that. The orange is positively electric. Love how you worked all the triangles into this outfit. Very creative. (P.S. to some of the people commenting here: Remember the golden rule. Even with a critique, please show kindness, and remember that this is all for a good cause.)

The neon fringe — and admitting no shower for… how long? — equals super brave.

Not the best one, sorry but those leggings are hideous!

@anonymous whats being ‘touted’ is a good cause, you might not like what she’s wearing, but the essential point is.. reuse, recycle, restyle..etc India has already raised $690 dollers in 18 days for a good cause, I think that says enough.. she has set out on a challenge that’s worthy of support at at least supportive and constructive criticism if you must.. I say well done.. she’s raised more money for charity than i have this month, and to that – hats off India! Ps. I love the leggings πŸ™‚

Looks good. I love Iceland, I saw some awesome styles there. I hope you’ve had the chance to make it to the Blue Lagoon. It was one of the high points of my last trip there. (Hair looks great for only one shower, rock it!)

Here is my point: this no rescue no recycle yadayada this is plain lazy…you wanna help a cause, get off your backside and show some IMAGINATION…

Well, like her style or hate it, what it still – and will always – boil down to is helping the kids. At least despite the negative feedback, people are still willing to give.

India’s demure has seemed, almost from the beginning, bored/uninterested and generally lacking creativity/variety (especially since it is only Day 18 – Sheena managed to keep our interest for 365 days). HOWEVER, apathetic appearance aside, the idea, the CAUSE she is supporting is more than worthy of our financial contribution. Would *love* to see you smile! πŸ™‚

the whole look –at first– seems stunning, but sort of conservative, color-wise. but those leggings! i loooove them the neon fringe parts are like little lightning bolts of pure awesome and they make the whole outfit electrocuted with pure awesome as well.

Love the belt. It has changed the outline of the dress. Go girl. I agree with a couple of nice people here. India has stepped out of her comfort zone to be judged by faceless people AND she is raising money for a cause. More than what I’ve done for the month. Have fun

boy oh boy! I am so surprised by the negative comments here. India’s doing it her own way. no, she’s not sheena (who set the bar pretty high) but she got off her butt to be involved and I say good on her. whether or not you like what India puts together, it’s ultimately about personal choice.

So all you haters – has anyone else noticed that India JUST GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL? I believe that means she is a teenager… how bout some love?

India, I think you are really cool.

India, I hope you’re not discouraged by the trolling. This outfit is more imaginative than anything most people would wear in their entire lifetime. You look great! BTW, I never take a shower until I absolutely have to either. Dirty hair has the best look!

Do you really think comments such as: “Because she is only xx years young, we should show her some love” are going to make ANYONE feel better? Seriously?

Ok, I don’t care whether you are 35 or 15, but you are making an effort for a good cause, so I think that deserves respect. Not a fan of the outfit today India, but I appreciate the variety you have been showing and really enjoyed some of the more structured outfits this past weekend.

And your “bored” look is in my opinion sultry, aloof, beautiful and apart from the high bun your signature look.

Like the triangles and the shoes. πŸ™‚
To all critics, give her a rest and stay nice. She is doing this for a social cause and she IS standing behind it with heart. If you read EVERYTHING she writes you would notice.
At the beginning I was criticising too but stayed constructive. Don’t get personal. Try that for a change. Style is a matter of taste, you don’t have to like every single day. And her face expression looks model-like. I turned to an India-Fan now, she’s doing a great job!

Haters have a right to hate if they’d like. No, I don’t think it’s nice to make caustic commentary, but to berate anyone for sharing his or her opinion is twice as bad. Oh, and the argument that “India is only xx years old!” is not any excuse. Women can do remarkable things at any age!

wow, sounds like the U.P has made it on to the radar of the construction worker set. “Hey baby, why don’t you smile for us!” “come back and talk to us for a second” “where you going so fast??” “Bitch” Get back to work guys, the foreman is coming. as for you India, you’re killing it. perfect job with more style than most can obviously handle. laugh at the cornballs, for they know not how corny they sound.

I absolutely love the fierceness of those leggings. Also appreciate the attention to subtle details such as the triangular theme. And I must say I am a huge fan of the high hair bun πŸ™‚ India, I have been so impressed that you have been able to scrounge up so much variety while you are on an overseas trip! For those of us who like to travel light, I say well done. “The happiest travelers are those with the least baggage” (this applies to life as well). Keep up the lovely work!

Sheesh, everyone is so negative. My purpose in mentioning India’s age is not to say that this is an excuse for her style – that some people don’t like (although I like her style, and this particular outfit, very much) but to say, bring out the encouragement. Not that teenagers can’t rule the world, but that we should show them love while they do, and lay off the harshness.
