Day 13

The Secret Garden

One can never tell if it’s going to rain in San Francisco or if the thick billowy fog will just blow over. The clouds are persisting here, however, which means the run today will have to hold off until the afternoon hours.

I did get up early enough to spend some time in the gardens behind the house. I miss these gardens – equipped with creeping Passiflora, Tree Ferns, lavender and rich succulents. Unlike my houseplants in New York, these wildly delightful wonders have a way of taking care of themselves.

I don’t have much else on my agenda today – run, a little work, prune some plants, listen to music, and perhaps head off to a jazz bar later in the eve. I want to keep it simple this Sunday so as to prepare for a really productive workweek.

Keeping it simple with my LBD as well – worn as a robe-vest. An organic cotton floral-print bra by Enamore; remade vintage polka-dot bloomers from Bow Tie Vintage; a vintage lace ascot pre-owned by my Great Grandmother Kozlowski and given to me by my grandmother; straw wide-brimmed hat; and Isabel Toledo sailor wedges from Payless ShoeSource.

Song on my mind: The Girl by City and Colour

Is there a story behind the ring?

Summer Rayne Oakes tagged this Touched Wood Ring

Yes, sorry I’m not repeating the ring- It’s a hand-carved ring by Touched Wood Ring. I first wore on Day 5 here: http://www.theuniformproject.com/#!pilotday?5-March-2011,Warming-up-in-Williamsburg

You look so lovely in this get-up, for a day in the garden. Do you intend to wear this out in the evening? And if so how will you alter it, if at all?
Those shoes are perfection.
And thanks for the 2nd City and Colour shout out! The Girl is my favourite song.
Your appreciation of Canada, and my appreciation of your excellent work earns you another donation today.

Summer Rayne Oakes tagged this what I wore

It was very easy for me to button up the dress fully and then throw a sweater over my shoulders. It rained today so there was a bit of a chill in the air, but still quite muggy.

Ashe tagged this Summer outfit

This looks great and reminds me that in Germany the time for these clothes is far far away. Today max. 12 degree (Celsius) but feeling colder, foggy and rainy.
What would interest me very much, are you feeling any change on the west coast after the Japan tragedy?
