Day 12

Casual Sundays

Today it’s raining and I’m inside watching football all day and eating fried chicken. It’s not really comfortable to be all styled out when you’re just sitting around acting like Al Bundy. Some might say that my jeans and sneakers combo with the dress might not be very stylish, but I would have to disagree. Comfort and confidence is what style is really about, and one of the reasons why if you want to wear the same every day, you can, and you can still look good. What I mean to say is, it’s not what you wear, but how you wear it. I personally don’t think that a ton of bells and whistles are what makes a good outfit. It’s how you feel when you’re wearing it. This old running sneakers are my most favorite pair of shoes. I also wore a t shirt under the dress today for extra comfort (new material comes tomorrow I believe). Anyway, happy Sunday.

You hit the nail on the head Lesley. The queen could wear a pair of motorcycle boots and it would look tacky. Owning a look is style. Have a great Sunday! It’s Monday morn here in Aus. Boo.

@Payal, hey, I’d love to see the Queen in motorcycle boots. @ Lesley, jeans look great with this short dress. The first photo is great, shows the pleats/draping details. Can’t wait to see your dress in a lighter weight fabric.

Yes! When’s HRH going to step out in motorcycle boots? And I think this dress may have been meant to wear with jeans. Jeans leggings might be really cute, too.

your day is either busy or lazy and that is your excuse for not “working with the dress”?
Can you do something with the sleeves or the front? I’m sorry, but your style seems to be looking similar day after day and thats okay, but just not right for the U.P. – your raising money for a good cause, remember?
This is just not inspiring.

Lesly you’re on a public platform, if this about you being you putting your comfort, you time-table, your socialcalendar before your chosen project for this moth, why on earth did you bother to take on this in the first place? and I am sorry to say that I find your nonchalance damaging to the project as a whole…
and @ payal: get a personality transplant for god’s sake…do you actually ever understand what you’re on about?

This one is ok. Dont be afraid to go a little crazy – bedazzle the dress, wear 2 different shoes, dy your hair red! Thats what fashion is all about. I would also love to see you raise some more money for the cause.

so we learn that you’ve decided to make your jeans and sneakers the highlight of your LBD today, yet the sneakers remain to be seen in the pics…

I get the strong impression that you’re depressed, Lesley. It really shows in your posts. How can we help to support you while championing the cause of sustainable fashion and the Pheonix House?

I guess I’m just getting really disappointed with where this month is going. Every day’s description has less and less to do with the cause and the dress and more to do with how busy you are. I know you’ve got a fantastic sense of style- your first couple of days were great, but it’s been downhill since. Here’s hoping the re-made dress will make your creative juices flow again.

Maybe on days when you’re just sitting around the house (like I do pretty much every day!) you could play dress up real quick, come up with a fun look for the photos, and then undo yourself a little for the Bundy time. Nothing wrong with that in my book! I hope you’re not discouraged. Keep going!

I love this and I totally agree with it. If you’re uncomfortable in the outfit you’re wearing then I truly believe that outfit is just not you. Fashion is way to express who you are so feeling confident in what you’re wearing is a must!

BTW I love the outfits you’ve posted so far. Keep up the great work. cheers!
