Day 17

Going green

Don’t think I’m getting into a bad habit of putting up my images late. I plan to get them out as early as I can from this point forward, but I had two days straight of early morning meetings.

I didn’t know who could possibly take photos of me, but luckily I came back to the office with the sound of Riverdance music blaring (compliments of Elizabeth a.k.a. EClo) whom also kindly snapped these shots of today’s UP LBD. Of course it’s always a gas finding out EClo’s many hidden talents – and today I found out that she has a decade of Riverdance lessons under her belt. I unfortunately can’t claim the same light-footed skill, but chose a song to appease all your Celtic longings.

I of course went with the obvious theme of St. Patty’s Day today (how can one not??) and brought a little green into the daily routine with a vintage pleated dress compliments of the Ebay Green Team; the fabulous broach was made from the same handwoven thai silk my dress is made out of – by the ubertalented team over at Carasan Designs; topped it off with my vintage 70s YSL wool felt hat with black grosgrain ribbon, bow and trim; and lugged my vintage luggage I purchased two years ago at Moon River Chattel, pre-owned by Mrs. John J. Conlin of 116 Green Street in Owego according to the label (any relatives out there?); handmade silver and gem bracelet from India by Amisha and Enzo Angiolini woven bow-tie pumps.

You literally look like you just stepped of a boat from Ireland sometime in the last century. This outfit is authentic, without being costume-y. Lovely.

Your creations have inspired me to start layering dresses, something I don’t often do. Beautifully vintage, with modern flair…love the ways you’ve put together the LBD.

Stacey, I think we often layer over dresses but never under. Terri and Cassandra and Carasan were awesome to leave a little “give” in the upper part of the dress to layer under, which is such a good strategy because it easily transitions the dress every day. I can’t wait to reveal what I have in store for the last two weeks! Too many looks and not enough days!

one of my favorite looks, yet! our house has a vintage bathroom decked to the max with mint green and rose pink tile. i’m such a sucker for this color combo, it may have been one of the top reasons i wanted to buy the house. i love how thoughtful, but effortless your accessories look. really look forward to your posts every day!

Love that green vintage dress. Always wanted to own a blouse or dress in this cut but always thought it looked to much granny on me. Maybe I have to use a different combo and pep it up like you did. 🙂

love your pretty style, love that its not complicated complex “fashion” .

{also, a note to this program in general, i’m longing for a dude to step in and do a number! like a little black dress dude version. i mean, he could do it with a blazer or something. just saying.}

keep it up summer. you are like sunshine to this project !

every day better than the last – the green belt really ties the outfit together and those terrific pink buttonholes – now that I noticed they are my focus – you brighten my day!

Yes, will have to credit the bracelet in the post: It’s Amisha.co.uk – handmade silver and gem bracelet from India. Beautiful! Will get it posted!

Love the way the pink and green play together, like a beautiful thistle blossoming in the Irish countryside. You should drop me a line next time, I’ll gladly take pictures for you.
